Equipment

  • Organic Butterfly Pea Flower
  • Glass Teapot
  • Ice Cube Tray with Lid

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Butterfly Pea Flowers
  • 2 Cups Water

Instructions

  • Steep the Tea: Begin by steeping a handful of butterfly pea flowers in hot water. Allow the flowers to steep for about 5 - 10 minutes. The water should start to turn a vibrant blue color. The longer you steep, the deeper the color will be.
  • Strain the Tea: After the flowers have steeped, remove the tea infuser or strain the tea into a pitcher. Be sure to press down on the flowers with the back of a spoon to extract all the liquid.
  • Pour the Tea into Ice Cube Tray: Once your tea is strained, it's time to pour it into your ice cube tray.
  • Freeze: Place the ice cube tray in the freezer. Let the tea freeze for about 8 hours, or until the ice cubes are completely solid.
  • Serve: Now, you can add these blue ice cubes to any drink.

Notes

  • To make the ice cubes even more dazzling, try adding a few drops of lemon juice or other citrus to your tea before freezing. This will turn your ice cubes purple.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a few drops of honey or sugar syrup to the tea before steeping. This will add a layer of sweetness to your drinks.
  • To enhance your butterfly pea flower ice cubes further, add a dried flower to the top of each cube before freezing.
