If you’re looking for a creamy tea latte at home that is simple and delicious, why not try this flavorful oolong tea latte? Made with oolong tea, and honey, topped with a cloud of steamed milk, and garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon, this oolong tea latte recipe is full of complex flavor, while still super easy to make!
Add loose tea to an infuser and place into a heat-safe container. Pour over boiling water and steep for 5 minutes.
Heat up your milk to about 150°F.
If you have a milk frother, use it to create a soft, creamy froth. If you don’t have a frother, a simple hack is to pour your hot milk into a jar with a lid, making sure it’s not more than halfway full. Secure the lid tightly and shake the jar vigorously for a few seconds until the milk is frothy.
Strain out tea leaves and pour Oolong tea into a serving cup.
Stir in honey and top with milk. Add a dash of cinnamon at the end.
The Oolong Tea Latte is best enjoyed while hot. Enjoy!
Notes
Choosing Your Oolong: There are numerous varieties of Oolong tea, each with its own unique flavor profile. Experiment with different types to find your perfect match. Generally, loose-leaf tea will have more flavor than tea bags.
Brewing Time: Oolong tea needs time to unlock its full flavor potential. Ensure you brew it for the recommended 3-5 minutes.
Milk Choices: While whole milk gives a rich and creamy texture, using dairy alternatives like almond, soy, or oat milk can offer a different taste experience.
Sweetness Level: Adjust the sweetness to your liking. While honey is a classic choice, you can experiment with other sweeteners like agave nectar or stevia.
