Equipment

  • Tapioca Pearl - Black Sugar Flavor
  • Boba Straws

Ingredients
  

  • 2-4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar Syrup
  • 1 Tea bag or 1 heaping Teaspoon Black Tea
  • 3/4 Cup Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Boba
  • 12 Cups Water divided

Instructions
 

  • Prepare tea by bringing 1 cup of water to a boil. Add in 1 heaping teaspoon of black tea. Steep covered, for 5 minutes. Strain out tea leaves and allow the tea to cool.
  • Scoop prepared boba into the cup.
  • Add a handful of ice if desired. (optional)
  • Pour tea on top.
  • Spoon in brown sugar and brush the spoon against the sides of the cup to create the tiger stripe effect. 
  • Top with milk.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

How to Cook Boba
  • Add 8 cups of water to a pot on the stovetop.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Pour in boba and stir gently. (I used black sugar boba)
  • Watch for the boba bubbles to rise to the top of the pot.
  • Once the boba balls have risen, cook for about 3-5 minutes. (You can adjust the time longer or shorter to the amount of chewiness you prefer.)
  • Strain out boba and rinse. Pour into a glass bowl and top with brown sugar syrup. Your boba is now ready to use.
