- 2 cups of water
- 2 black tea bags or 2 teaspoons black tea
- 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons of sugar sweeten to taste!
- 1 cup of milk I find the whole-milk or full-fat oat milk tastes the best, but there are a variety of options
- Vanilla Extract or Vanilla Bean Paste
- A pinch of salt try pink Himalayan sea salt!
Heat the water in a pot until it comes to a boil.
Turn off the heat, add the black tea, and let it steep for about 5 minutes. Remove tea solids.
Turn the heat back on to low and stir in the cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt, ensuring there are no lumps.
Add the milk and stir continuously until all ingredients are combined.
Enjoy!
- Use high-quality cocoa powder and black tea for the best flavor.
- Add a little whipped cream on top for an extra touch of decadence.
- If you want to make your tea a bit more spicy, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg.
- Experiment with different kinds of milk, like almond or coconut, for a twist in flavor.
- You can also use real vanilla bean to add more vanilla flavor.
