Cinnamon Dolce Syrup Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 Cup Water

Instructions
 

  • Measure water and sugar into a saucepan.
  • Turn heat on low.
  • Give the mixture a stir.
  • Add in cinnamon sticks.
  • Cook until sugar is fully dissolved into the water. Stirring occasionally. This should take around 5 minutes.
  • Let mixture steep on the stovetop (with lid) for 10 minutes.
  • When cool enough to handle transfer to storage jar. (I like a good strong cinnamon flavor so I do not strain out the cinnamon sticks from my syrup.)

Notes

  • I leave the cinnamon sticks with the syrup until serving. Not only does it look pretty, but it keeps infusing cinnamon flavor.
  • Add a dash of vanilla for variation.
  • Use different types of sugar. Brown sugar has a rich molasses and caramel flavor to it. It adds a lot of extra depth to your recipe.
  • If you don't have cinnamon sticks, you can use 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. No need to strain your syrup after cooking. Enjoy the pretty brown flecks!
