Equipment

  • 1 Pot
  • 1 Strainer

Ingredients

  • 1 Teaspoon Cloves
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Teaspoon Honey Optional

Instructions

  • Start by adding whole cloves to a mortar and pestle and lightly crush cloves.
  • Add cloves  and water to a small pot and bring to a boil
  • Once the water has reached a boil, reduce the heat to low and allow the tea to simmer for about 8 minutes. (If you prefer your tea stronger, leave it on the heat for an extra minute or two.)
  • Take the tea off the heat and allow it to cool enough to handle.
  • Use a strainer to pour your clove tea into your mug.
  • Add honey to taste, stir, and serve hot!

Notes

  • Clove Tea with Lemon: Add some lemon juice to your clove tea for a citrusy kick. Simply squeeze half a lemon into your mug before adding the honey.
  • Clove Tea with Cinnamon: If you love cinnamon, add a stick to the water while it’s boiling and let it simmer for an extra minute or two. The result is a delightful blend of spices.
  • Iced Clove Tea: Let your tea cool down and pour it over ice for a refreshing iced version of clove tea. You can also add some lemon slices or mint leaves for an extra twist.
