While tea is steeping, warm and foam milk. (optional)
Strain out tea if using loose leaves.
Stir in vanilla and sugar to tea and stir.
Pour the tea into a cup.
Pour over milk.

Earl Grey is a black tea. If using an electric kettle be sure to heat your water to 212°F as that is the optimal water temperature for black tea.
Steep tea covered and for a full 5 minutes for the best taste. Less time will result in a weaker tea, and steeping too much longer will risk a bitter tea.
