Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Turmeric Root chopped or sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger Root chopped or sliced
  • 4 Lemon Slices
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Honey or to taste
  • 2 Cups Water

Instructions

  • Start by rinsing turmeric root, ginger root, and lemon and pat dry.
  • Thinly slice each ingredient and add to the pot.
  • Pour water over the ingredients.
  • Set the timer for 10 minutes. Bring contents in the pot to a boil and then simmer on low until time has expired.
  • Strain out pulp.
  • Stir in honey while still warm.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • Always choose organic ingredients when possible.
  • Remember, you don’t need to peel the turmeric and ginger if you’re straining the tea before consuming.
  • For those who find the flavor of fresh turmeric too intense, you can use a bit less than the recipe calls for and gradually increase it over time.
  • If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric, 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric can be used as a substitute.
  • Adjust the lemon and honey to taste.
  • Be careful when handling turmeric, as it can stain clothing and kitchenware.
  • The tea can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. You can enjoy it cold or gently reheat it before drinking.
  • If this tea is too strong for your taste, reduce the amount of ginger or turmeric.
