Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Edible Rose Bud or Rose Petals

Instructions
 

  • Turn heat on low.
  • Place saucepan on the stovetop.
  • Add water and sugar and stir.
  • Allow the sugar to dissolve. (this will only take a few minutes.)
  • Add in roses and stir.
  • Allow mixture to simmer on low for about 5 minutes.
  • Turn off heat.
  • Cover pot and allow to sit and infuse for at least 10 minutes.
  • Strain out rose solids.
  • Allow mixture to cool.
  • Transfer to storage jar and refrigerate when not in use.

Notes

Recipe Tips

  • This recipe does not call for any coloring. I love the all-natural color without any additives. However, if you are looking for a deeper color, you can add 1 drop of pink food coloring after straining the prepared syrup. Or consider using a natural coloring such as adding a hibiscus petal or beet powder.
  • When straining out the rosebuds, I strain my syrup from the pot back into the liquid measuring cup. From there I pour the syrup into my storage jar. It makes for a super easy process, and fewer dishes to wash!
