Taylor & Colledge Organic Vanilla Bean Paste with Seeds,
teapigs Black Tea
Milk Frother Handheld
Ingredients
1Vanilla Bean or 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste
1TeaspoonBlack Tea or 1 Tea Bag
1CupWater
1/4CupMilk
1TeaspoonSugaror to taste
Instructions
Start by slicing a vanilla bean in half lengthwise. Scrape out the center of the vanilla into a small pot and then toss in the whole bean. (You can also use 1 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract.)
Add 1 cup of water to the vanilla and bring the mixture to a boil. Once the water reaches a boil turn off the heat and add the tea bag.
Steep the tea covered with a fitted lid for about 5 minutes. Pro Tip: For stronger tea, do not steep longer than 5 minutes. This will only result in bitter tea. Instead, add more tea to your water!
After the tea has finished steeping, remove the vanilla bean shell and tea bag or strain out loose-leaf tea. (Pro Tip: if using loose-leaf tea, consider using a tea ball for easy removal of the tea leaves)
Stir in sweetener. You can use honey or sugar. I like to start with a teaspoon but you can adjust according to your taste preference.
Not getting that vanilla flavor? You might have a “bad” vanilla bean. This could be due to improper storage or another number of reasons. This has happened to me. To remedy this, simply add vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste for that delicious vanilla flavor.
Try using different types of milk for different flavors and textures. Almond milk will give a slightly nutty flavor, while oat milk will add a smooth, creamy texture.
If you’d like to add a bit of spice to your Vanilla Milk Tea, consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg on top before serving.
Remember, the quality of your tea bags matters. Opt for high-quality, black tea for the best results.
If you’re simply out of vanilla flavoring, you can sweeten with vanilla simple syrup.
