Ingredients
- Honeydew – I love to use real fruit in my tea! Choose a ripe honeydew for the most flavor. When cubing your fruit, chose the slices closest to the center as they will be the juiciest! This recipe will not use an entire melon, so you can use the extras for garnish or for snacking!
- Almond Milk – Always chose unsweetened and unflavored almond milk. This milk gives the tea a creamy silky texture.
- Green Tea – You might be surprised but not everyone adds tea! I like a true tea, and green tea is the perfect addition, in my opinion. You can also substitute for jasmine green tea or oolong tea.
- Sugar – A little amount of sugar brings out all the sweetness in the fruit leaving you will a dreamy melon flavored tea that is sure to satisfy!
- Boba – You can either make your own, (it is fairly easy although time-consuming) or purchase dried boba in a package that you can cook on your stovetop fairly quickly. I used black tapioca pearls in my recipe, but there are many different boba flavors so feel free to try another option.
Variations
Honeydew Powder
If a fresh melon is not available to you, you can use a powder. Note, that powder is never better than the real fruit but could be better than nothing!
Honeydew Simple Syrup
While simple syrup is an option to add honeydew flavor, I opted to use real fruit instead. Real honeydew is delicious and easily available in most areas, and full of nutrition!
How to Cook Boba
- Bring 5-10 cups of water to a boil on the stovetop.
- Drop-in boba balls and stir gently.
- Once the boba has risen to the top (keep an eye on it because it doesn’t take too long)
- Cover the pot and cook for 10-15 minutes depending upon desired chewiness. (Feel free to scoop one out and do a taste test.)
- Strain out boba and drop it immediately into your serving cup OR place it in a bowl and top with simple syrup.

- Pour through a strainer to remove any clumps.
- Pour tea over boba.
