Chamomile Tea is one of the most popular herbal teas, and rightfully so. It has a delicious taste, caffeine free, and can be enjoyed hot, iced, or even made into a delightful latte like this recipe I’m sharing today.

I am a huge fan of camomile tea, always stocking plenty of chamomile flowers for my almost daily cup. While a hot teacup of chamomile tea is my favorite on chilly winter nights, I thought it was time to switch things up a bit. Spring is well on its way and a refreshing iced chamomile latte sounds appropriate. Let’s go into the kitchen!

What is a Chamomile Tea Latte?

This fully customizable iced chamomile tea latte is made by combining chamomile tea with milk and honey to make a delicious drink.

Chamomile tea is a popular herbal tea made by infusing dried chamomile flowers with hot water. It has a light, fruity, and floral flavor with a slightly sweet aftertaste.

Ingredients to Make an Iced Chamomile Tea Latte

  • Dried Chamomile Flowers –Tea bags and loose flowers both work well in this recipe, but I recommend loose flowers as they are usually much higher quality and bring more flavor.
  • Water – I always use filtered water to ensure nothing interferes with the delicate taste of chamomile.
  • Milk – For a super creamy latte, consider using whole milk. However, almond or oat milk also pairs beautifully for a dairy-free option.
  • Honey – Use your favorite honey!
  • Cinnamon or Nutmeg – Cinnamon and nutmeg add flavor and kick to this latte.
  • Vanilla –  A dash of vanilla extract is the secret to rounding out our latte, adding a layer of complexity and a hint of sweetness that elevates the entire drink to a whole new level of deliciousness.

How to an Make Iced Chamomile Tea Latte

Step One

Steep chamomile flowers in hot water for about 5-10 minutes. (I use these tea filters to make straining out the flowers easier.

Recipe Notes and Expert Tips

  • Firstly, when it comes to brewing chamomile tea, patience is key. I recommend allowing the dried chamomile flowers to steep in hot water for a full 5 – 10 minutes. This ensures the infusion is potent with flavor and aroma, creating a soul-soothing base for our latte. I’ve found that this quiet time is perfect for a breath and a reflective pause in our often too-busy days.
  • While whole milk offers an undeniably indulgent richness, don’t shy away from experimenting with plant-based milks. Each one brings its own character to the latte. Almond milk introduces a nutty undertone, while oat milk lends a sweet, creamy texture reminiscent of comfort and warmth. The key is to froth your milk to silky perfection, making your latte luxuriously smooth.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking, but remember, the natural flavor of chamomile should be the star.
  • Don’t underestimate the power of spices like cinnamon or nutmeg. A light sprinkle atop your latte can transform it.

Storage Tips

This iced chamomile tea latte is best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, you can store them in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Just be sure to give it a good stir or shake before serving as some separation may occur.

Why You Will Love This Iced Chamomile Tea Latte Recipe!
