As they say, “time flies when you’re having fun,” and I guess that is all too true because I simply can’t believe summer is past and fall is here.

The swim bag has now been exchanged for bookbags, and lazy mornings are now a hustle and bustle with the new school and work routines.

While the tears dry from another summer behind us, I think it is time to look forward to the many pleasures of fall. The most important being everything pumpkin-themed.

I’m absolutely in love with pumpkin – real pumpkin – and each season I tell myself I’m going to stock up with enough pumpkin to last me until the next season. I should realize by now that is a futile dream as each can of pumpkin puree is gobbled up faster than it enters the house.

What is in Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte?

  • Pumpkin Puree – I just used canned pumpkin puree and it works beautifully.
  • Black Tea Bags – Choose a good strong black tea. Chai tea bags are also fine, but keep in mind they will add more spice.
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice – How easy is this? All the wonderful pumpkin spices are already mixed together for you. If you want to make your own pumpkin spice, check out this easy and simple DIY pumpkin spice recipe!
  • Brown Sugar – Dark or light brown sugar will work in this recipe although I prefer the extra richness of dark.
  • Milk – Whole milk, or even try half and half. See “dietary considerations” if you’d like to use another milk instead.
  • Vanilla Extract – Just a dash! The subtle vanilla comes through perfectly.
  • Whipped Cream – Top this amazing pumpkin spice chai with some whipped cream.
