What is Raspberry Iced Tea?

This recipe for raspberry iced tea is made completely from scratch with fresh ingredients. It combines fresh raspberries and sugar to make a homemade raspberry syrup with black tea in a combination that is simply divine! It only takes a few minutes to prepare both tea and syrup and it can’t even be compared to any prepackaged version.

What is in Raspberry Iced Tea?

  • Raspberry Syrup – this recipe is included below and honestly, it couldn’t be more simple to make! When finished it is the most beautiful bright pink color.
  • Black Tea – I use Lipton tea bags, but you can also choose loose leaf if you prefer. Use the amount of loose leaf equal to tea bags.
  • Water – I always recommend fresh filtered water! It just makes better tasting tea.
  • Lemon – While lemon is optional, I always add a few slices to my tea. It adds brightness and is so easy to drop in a few slices right before refrigerating.

  • Tastes Amazing – sweet and fruity for the perfect balance.
  • Cold and Refreshing

How to Serve Raspberry Iced Tea

Raspberry iced tea is made to serve cold and over ice. After preparing this tea and refrigerating it until completely cool, you can serve this tea in glasses over ice. I love to add lemon or lime slices in the tea itself and as a garnish. The bright citrus brings out the fruity sweet raspberries for the perfect flavor marriage. This tea has a beautiful color and will be a focal point on any table when serving your guests. Try it at your next wedding or baby shower, BBQ, or dinner.

  2. Stir in sugar

Tips for the Best Tea Flavor

  • For the best tea, use filtered water. Good-tasting water makes wonderful-tasting tea!
  • Tailor to your taste. Add more sweetener if desired. (although I do caution against too much sweetener as it will overwhelm the tea.)
  • Add lemon or lime slices.
  • Add fresh mint.

How to Store

Raspberry iced tea should be refrigerated in a pitcher with an airtight lid. A 1 Quart Mason Jar with a fitting lid is the perfect size for this recipe. This iced tea will last several days refrigerated, however, if it starts to smell rancid or develop an off color, it should be discarded.

Does Raspberry Tea have Caffeine?

Yes, this tea contains caffeine. Raspberry iced tea base is made of black tea which contains caffeine. The exact amount will vary depending upon which tea you choose and how long it is steeped.

How do you fit 4 cups of tea and 2 cups of raspberry syrup into a 1 quart Mason jar? A quart is equal to 4 cups…this is 6 cups?
