What is Jasmine Milk Tea?
Jasmine green milk tea is jasmine green tea with milk. Milk tea has been around for decades if not longer. Simply put, milk tea is any tea with milk. But it doesn’t have to stop there! Originated in Taiwan, bubble tea has become a popular drink that includes tapioca pearls, often called boba, with tea. These small chewy balls are easy to source, cook, and combine with any tea. Bubble tea is also usually sweetened with sugar or honey. In jasmine boba tea, we will use jasmine green tea, honey boba, and milk.
What is in Jasmine Milk Tea?
- Jasmine Green Tea – For this recipe I use organic tea bags. You can also choose from jasmine pearls or loose leaves.
- Milk – Whole milk, or your favorite plant based milk.
- Honey – Choose a high quality honey. I use raw honey in this recipe as it compliments the earthy floral flavor of the jasmine green tea.
- Boba – Sometimes called tapioca pearls.
- Water – Use the best water you can! I like fresh filtered water!
What Is Jasmine Tea?
Jasmine tea is a scented or infused tea. Jasmine blossoms (or in lower grade teas, jasmine essential oil) are infused into a tea base; the most common being green tea, but may also be black or white tea. One of the most popular floral teas in the world, jasmine tea contains caffeine and a world of health benefits. You can read more about jasmine tea here!
