This turmeric tea recipe with ginger is a sweet and spicy tea with a bit of a kick that tastes absolutely delicious, is comforting, and is chock full of health benefits!
If you’ve heard of the amazing health benefits of turmeric and have wondered how to add more to your diet, may I suggest you try this amazing turmeric tea?
One of the main reasons I started drinking this tea was for the anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting benefits of turmeric. I started just adding turmeric to warm water and gulped it down.
This tea recipe is much better than that and really does taste fabulous!
What is in Turmeric and Ginger Tea?
As I’ve learned more about how these spices work and how to unleash their powerful properties I’ve added a few more ingredients to this recipe.
- Ground Turmeric- A beautiful golden spice. I’ve actually searched for fresh turmeric and it is not easily accessible. So I use ground organic turmeric and the health benefits are not compromised.
- Ginger – If fresh ginger is easily available to you, I’d recommend using it, but if not dried ground ginger is perfectly fine!
- Honey – I opt for raw organic honey, preferably from a local hive.
- Black Pepper – I didn’t start out using ground black pepper, but have since added just a dash as I learned that pepper not only contains powerful properties in its own right but also helps aid in the absorption of the nutrients in turmeric.
Health Benefits of Turmeric Tea?
- Turmeric – one of the more powerful spices on the planet. Not only does it taste delicious in a variety of savory dishes, but is full of many health benefits as well. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory, good for your skin, and is said to possibly help fight certain cancers as well as diabetes and arthritis. Turmeric is a strong spice and shouldn’t be consumed in large amounts unless directed by your doctor. It is said to be generally safe if used in regular cooking amounts.
- Ginger – is among the healthiest spices on the planet and carries a host of health benefits. It can be used in a variety of ways including fresh, dried, or powdered. A common medicinal way it is used is as a home remedy for upset stomach or nausea. It may also help aid in weight loss, relieve menstrual cramps, and fight infections.
- Honey – is a great source of antioxidants and research also suggests that honey can help treat many digestive issues. It should also be noted that honey can also be used as a topical treatment for certain wounds or as an antibacterial or antifungal treatment. Honey should not be given to any child under the age of one.
- Black Pepper – is full of antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, and may boost brain function to name a few of its health powers! Black pepper also contains piperine which helps in the absorption of curcumin, the powerful ingredient in turmeric.
