This honey lavender matcha latte recipe is one of the most delicious matcha lattes! It starts with infusing lavender with honey and blending that infusion with matcha and topping with creamy steamed milk that is perfectly frothed. Every sip of this delicious matcha lavender latte is perfectly balanced with the earthy and floral flavors of matcha and lavender.
I like to think of matcha as a super ingredient! It tastes delicious on its own when made into a perfectly nutritious tea, as a hot cozy latte, or a refreshing iced latte! It can be blended with chai spices, and pumpkin spice, baked into cookies, and so much more! I have yet to use matcha in a recipe that I just simply didn’t love.
So today I’m ready to share another matcha latte recipe infused with lavender and honey. This lavender matcha latte has the perfect amount of lavender to matcha. Neither ingredient is overpowering and that was a balance that was more difficult to strike than I anticipated. I hope you love it!

Matcha Lavender Latte Recipe
STEP ONE: Infuse Honey and Lavender
Add water, honey, and lavender to a small saucepan over low heat. Allow the honey to incorporate with the water stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat and allow it to steep for 10 minutes. Strain out lavender. (This will make more honey lavender syrup than you need for this recipe, however, you can store the extras to make future lattes!)
STEP TWO: Whisk Matcha
Whisk together matcha and water until combined. Stir in 2 Tablespoons of homemade honey lavender syrup.
STEP THREE: Steam Milk
Steam milk by warming it on the stove to about 150°F. Foam milk with a handheld electric wand. Or use your favorite method for foaming milk! (See here for more details on heating and foaming milk for lattes like a pro!)
STEP FOUR: Serving
Add matcha to the serving cup. Pour over milk.
Enjoy!

Sweet Lavender Matcha Latte Caffeine?
A Lavender Matcha Latte typically has a caffeine content similar to other matcha-based drinks. The exact amount can depend on various factors such as the type of matcha used. However, this also can vary depending on preparation methods and the quantity used. The lavender infusion adds no caffeine.
What is Matcha?
Matcha is a type of powdered green tea that originates from Japan. It’s made from tea leaves that are shade-grown for about three weeks before harvest. The stems of the leaves are removed, and the leaves are ground into a fine powder. When you drink matcha, you’re consuming the actual tea leaves, not just steeping them, which makes matcha tea different from other types of tea. This means all the nutrients in the leaves make their way into your cup. Matcha is renowned for its rich, earthy flavor and for being a powerhouse of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It’s also known for providing a calm, focused energy, making a matcha latte a perfect start to your day or a soothing afternoon treat. (Source)
What is Lavender?
Lavender is a small shrub that produces beautiful and fragrant flowers. Lavender, part of the mint family has over 400 hundred varieties. English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is said to be the best for tea. All lavender is technically edible though I would caution to only use culinary food-grade lavender.
