Cinnamon Apple Tea

Each fall we take our annual drive to the orchard to pick apples. I love the tradition and look forward to eating all the apples we come home with.  There are so many wonderful recipes to make with apples including fresh apple juice! One of my favorite ways to use apples is to make apple tea! I love the simplicity of it, but sometimes I like to dress it up a bit more by adding some cinnamon and sugar. That is what this recipe is all about. The best fall flavors combined into one lovely tea.

Apple Cinnamon Tea Latte

While I don’t typically add milk to this tea, you could make it into a latte by adding a bit of frothed milk. An apple cinnamon tea latte is warm and comforting, and some days just call for it. Feel free to double this recipe and share a cup with a friend!

Why You Will Love Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea

  • Made with fresh ingredients.
  • Simple to make.
  • So economical to make your own tea at home!
  • Completely customizable to your taste!

Ingredients for Apple and Cinnamon Tea

  • Apple – I love a fresh crisp red apple for this recipe. You can use whatever kind of apple you like best. Gala, Fuji, and Red Delicious are some of my favorites.
  • Cinnamon Stick – I just use 1 cinnamon stick for this tea. Cinnamon sticks come in all sizes. If yours are particularly large, consider cutting it in half or the cinnamon will overpower the tea.
  • Black Tea – The choice of black tea is up to you. I typically use English breakfast as it is one of my favorites, but Assam or Darjeeling are great options.
  • Sugar – A bit of sugar just to sweeten it up and enhance all the natural flavors in this tea. If you don’t like the idea of using sugar, you can try honey or coconut sugar.
  • Vanilla – I like to add a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste for extra flavor!
  • Water – Don’t overlook the water you use for your tea. Water plays an important role in the flavor and aroma of tea.
  • Milk (optional to make a latte) – To make a latte, warm and froth 1/4 cup of your favorite milk. This makes your tea a decedent and luxurious drink!

How to Make Apple and Cinnamon Tea

Start by washing and drying your apple. Next add water, apple, vanilla, and cinnamon stick to your saucepan. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes. Apples will be soft and easily mashed down with a fork or masher.
