Step aside Christmas coffees! With only a few days until Christmas, it’s all hands on deck to finish up last-minute shopping and baking. Staying up way too late is par for the course. In my opinion, the perfect way to wind down after a long busy day is with a warm tea latte and watch Christmas movies with the family.
This peppermint tea latte is a perfect choice as is it caffeine-free and will not keep me awake all night!
Peppermint Tea with Milk
Adding milk to herbal teas is not something I do often. I usually reserve additions for black teas or green tea, but in this case, peppermint tea is a strong enough herbal tea to hold its own flavor even with the addition of milk and sugar. This tea reminds me of peppermint ice cream but a warm and cozy rendition.
A Little About Peppermint
The peppermint plant is part of the mint family. A hybrid between spearmint and watermint, it was cultivated in England more than 200 years ago and is now grown all over the world. It is fresh and sweet with a cooling aftertaste. It makes a delightful tea, hot or iced.
Peppermint Benefits
Besides its appealing taste, peppermint is said to have many health benefits. Studies show that it may help relieve symptoms due to:
- Digestive issues such as bloading, gas, or indigestion.
- Headache symptoms
- Improve engery
- Fight bacterial infections
- Help with bad breath

What is in a Peppermint Tea Latte?
- Peppermint Tea – I used organic peppermint tea bags for this recipe. It is so easy to steep and remove the tea solids this way. You can also use fresh peppermint if you have some avalible to you. mnb
- Milk – I prefer to avoid dairy so I used a plant based full-fat oat milk. This is optional and you can use your favorite milk. Make sure it is unflavored and unsweetened!
- Sugar – Regular granulated sugar is perfect for this recipe. You can also use a simple syrup, or your favorite choice of sweetener. Bear in mind that some alternate sugars carry their own flavors and this can effect the end result.
- Water – Use filtered or spring water for the best results.

I literally just put the kettle on for this. I’m also a recent oat milk convert (full-fat always) so I’m glad that’s pre-approved! 🙂
