Tea Preparation Tips

- Note: The longer you steep the darker the color will be. If you are looking for a lighter brighter blue, steep only for up to 5 minutes.
- Make Cold Brew Tea– if you love iced tea, this makes an amazing cold brew. Simply prepare a jar with water and tea and refrigerate for about 4 hours.
- The easiest way to add sweetener to a cold tea is to use a simple syrup.
How to Make this Tea Taste Wonderful + Variations
This tea has a very earthy flavor and is usually an acquired taste. To make it taste more delicious, I like to play around with various combinations.
- My favorite blend so far is combined with rose hips. Rosehip tea is naturally sweet and brings balance when the two teas are combined. I use 1 teaspoon of rose hips + 1 teaspoon of butterfly pea tea in 2 cups of water.
- Combine with hibiscus tea.
- Make lemonade by combining prepared tea with lemonade.
- Combine with lemon-lime soda.
- Add honey.
- Add in a lemon or lime slice. This will also make the tea turn a beautiful purple color.
- chamomile and lemongrass are also popular additions.
How to Enjoy and Serve Butterfly Pea Flower Tea
Arguably the most beautiful tea, it doesn’t need a lot to enhance its looks. This tea has a very earthy taste similar to green tea, without much sweetness to its natural flavor. To serve, I like to provide the option of adding honey, pouring over ice, and of course adding lemon! Your guests (or yourself!) will love watching it turn color. You can also mix this tea with a lemon-flavored soda, or lemonade to create a punch.
